Clear marquees
Clear roof marquees transform any setting into a breathtaking venue — flooded with natural light by day and glowing with atmosphere by night.
What makes clear marquees different
- Transparent roof and walls, rather than white PVC
- Bright during the day — no need for heavy lighting early on
- Feel more open and less enclosed than standard marquees
- Work especially well if your location is part of the appeal
In the evening, they take on a different feel:
- Lighting reflects off the clear panels, amplifying the effect
- You are under the stars!

Clear Marquees FAQs
When temperatures soar, clear roof marquees in full sun will get warm in the heat of the day. Rolling the side walls up can keep things cooler. If its really hot, we often recommend a partially transparent marquee for daytime events. Clear roofs and wall panels can be mixed with plain white roofs and walls. When combined, daytime dining can take place under the cooler opaque section, while evening activities like dancing can happen under the stars.
Clear marquees tend to be a little more expensive than equivalent sized frame marquees. That’s because the material itself is more expensive and takes more labour to keep the transparent walls and roof scrupulously clean. In the end though, it’s typically the furniture and equipment you choose to go in and around your tent that really makes the difference.
Transparent marquees are clearspan structures so are built to withstand higher wind speeds and snow loading.
But because the roof and walls are clear, they don’t insulate as well as fully lined marquees. They are a practical option if they are set up properly and with the right heating and flooring. Clear roof tents are widely used for winter events.
Clear roof marquees can be installed on grass, patios, driveways, and other hard surfaces. We’ll advise on the best setup for your location.
