Semi-permanent marquee FAQs
In the UK, you can generally keep a marquee up for 28 days per year. If you intend to keep it up longer, you will likely need planning permission from your local council.
The rules may differ for pubs and restaurants. There are often more flexible Permitted Development rights for hospitality businesses to expand their footprint. Best to check with your Local Planning Authority first.
Yes. Semi-permanent marquees use Clearspan aluminium frames and heavy-grade PVC, engineered to withstand British wind and snow loads.
If the marquee is over 30m² (residential) or 100m² (commercial), it must comply with UK Building Regulations regarding fire safety, structural stability, and energy use.
We recommend thermostatically controlled indirect heaters and “thermo-roofs” (twin-layered insulation) to retain heat and prevent condensation. ??? What do we supply?
Our semi-permanent marquees use covers that are flame-retardant to British Standard BS 7837.
Our semi-permanent marquees can be attached to most bases. They can be bolted onto a concrete/tarmac hard-standing, while the raised cassette flooring system allows air circulation on grass, and prevents the interior from becoming damp. If the structure is pinned onto grass for more than three weeks however, the grass will not survive.
I found your workers extremely skilled, efficient and co-operative. The marquee itself is smart and sturdy. I would definitely use your company again.
