These terms are designed to ensure a smooth, transparent, and enjoyable experience for both you and us. By confirming your booking, you agree to the following terms.

1. Definitions

“The company” refers to COUNTY MARQUEES, including its employees, subcontractors, and agents.
“The hirer” refers to the person or organisation booking the hire.
“The equipment” includes all marquees and associated items supplied by the Company.
“The period of hire” begins when the equipment arrives on site and ends when it is fully removed.
“The hire agreement” is the contract formed between the Hirer and the Company.

2. Booking & Payment

To secure your booking, we require a non-refundable deposit, as outlined in your quotation.

The remaining balance is due on or before installation, unless otherwise agreed.

This ensures everything is prepared, scheduled, and ready for your event.

If payment is not made as agreed, we reserve the right to charge interest at 4% above the base rate of Lloyds Bank.

All bookings are subject to availability at the time of confirmation.

3. Cancellation

We understand that plans can change, and we will always try to be as accommodating as possible.

Should you need to cancel your booking, the following charges will apply:

  • More than 28 days before the hire date: 20% of the total hire charge
  • 14–28 days before the hire date: 50% of the total hire charge
  • Less than 14 days before the hire date: 90% of the total hire charge

These reflect the time, preparation, and dates reserved exclusively for you.

Your deposit is non-refundable, except where we are unable to fulfil your booking due to circumstances within our control.

4. Your Venue & Site Preparation

Marquees are designed to complement their surroundings beautifully, but they do require the right setting.

To help everything run smoothly, we ask that you:

  • Ensure the site is ready and accessible
  • Clearly mark any underground services (such as pipes or cables)

We cannot accept responsibility for damage to unmarked underground features.

Where lighting is included, we assume a suitable power supply is available within 5 metres of the marquee, unless arranged otherwise.

Any reinstatement or repair of the site following removal of the equipment is not included unless specified.

5. Installation & Layout

We will always work with you to position your marquee exactly as planned.

You can:

  • Provide a layout plan, or
  • Have someone on site to guide our team

If no guidance is available, we will install the structure in what we consider the most suitable position.

Any changes requested after installation may incur an additional charge.

6. Safety & Care

  • Your safety — and that of your guests — is always our priority.
  • Marquee entrances should be secured when not in use

No alterations or additions should be made without our written approval

In rare circumstances, such as severe weather, we may need to advise evacuation or restrict use of the marquee.

While we always aim to avoid disruption, safety must come first.

7. During the Hire Period

We ask that reasonable care is taken of the marquee and all equipment throughout your event.

The Hirer is responsible for:

  • Any required permissions or permits
  • Ensuring the equipment is used appropriately

The damage waiver – included in your quotation – limits the Hirer’s financial responsibility for accidental loss or damage to the equipment during the hire period, subject to an agreed excess.

The damage waiver does not cover loss or damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or failure to take reasonable care of the equipment.

8. Liability

We take great care in delivering a safe, high-quality service.

  • Our liability is limited to the total hire charge.
  • In the event of insured loss or damage, the Hirer may be responsible for an initial contribution (e.g. £500)

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for:

  • Death or personal injury caused by negligence
  • Any matter where it would be unlawful to do so

9. Third-Party Responsibility

Once installed, the marquee becomes part of your event space.

We cannot accept responsibility for injury or damage unless caused by our negligence, materials, or workmanship.

10. Unforeseen Circumstances

Very occasionally, events beyond anyone’s control can affect plans.

This may include:

  • Severe weather conditions
  • Government restrictions
  • Other unexpected events

We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in fulfilling our obligations where this is due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

However, we will always aim to work with you to explore practical solutions, such as rescheduling where possible. This does not constitute a guarantee of any specific outcome.

11. Final Details

These terms apply to all bookings unless otherwise agreed in writing.

A Final Word

Our aim is simple: to create a beautiful, seamless setting for your event.

If anything in these terms is unclear, we’re always happy to talk things through so do get in touch.

Dancing in a blacked out marquee

Thank you very much for so efficiently providing the marquee and tent arrangements for our daughter’s wedding. I am afraid that our tiered terrace and the generally lopsided nature of our garden posed some unique technical problems. But you and your enthusiastic team sorted them all out beautifully.
